Celebrating A Happy World Autism Awareness Day

At UroStat, World Autism Awareness Day means more to us than a date on the calendar.

Every day, we have the privilege of speaking with parents who are navigating a journey that looks different from what they expected. A journey filled with appointments, therapies, advocacy, victories, challenges, and an incredible amount of love.

Why We Exist

Many of the families we serve have children with autism. And for some children with autism, challenges with potty training, toileting, or incontinence can continue longer than they do for other children. Sensory sensitivities, communication differences, developmental delays, GI issues, anxiety, or simply needing more time can all play a role.

That is why we exist.

We know that incontinence is not “just a phase” for every child, and it is not something families should have to face alone or feel embarrassed about. Every child develops in their own time, and every family deserves support without judgment.

How We Help

At UroStat, our goal is simple: to make life a little easier for families who already have so much on their plates. Whether that means helping you understand your insurance, providing pediatric-sized supplies discreetly delivered to your door, or simply reminding you that you are not alone, we want to be an ally on your journey.

Because behind every order is a family doing their very best.

Stories from Real UroStat Families

As April is Autism Awareness Month, we want to celebrate those families. We will be sharing real stories from our patients and their journeys. We recently heard from a mom whose words are something so many families can identify with:

My life didn’t end because my child has autism.

It just started looking different.

Different routines.
Different priorities.
Different battles people don’t always see.

My days might not look like everyone else’s.
Sometimes they’re louder.
Sometimes they’re harder.
Sometimes they require a level of patience and strength I didn’t even know I had.

But let me tell you something…

Autism didn’t take my life away.

Words from Shanté F.

It expanded my heart.
It taught me a kind of love that is deeper, fiercer, and more intentional.

We celebrate things others might overlook.
We fight battles others don’t understand.
And we find joy in moments the world would probably miss.

My life didn’t end.
I just learned how to do life differently…
and honestly, this journey made me stronger than I ever imagined.

And my child?
They didn’t ruin my life.
They changed it.

And that change made me who I am today.”
